6.0 Litre For 2010

Hello All,

Im buying a new 2010 Silverado 3500 two wheel and I have been told that the 6.0 l has only 322 hp @ 4400rpm does this mean it has the 360 Hp @5500 rpm. From what I understand this is the only gas engine fro 2010 and the more umph to pull my fifth the better.

No the hp number with rpm is the max HP output by the engine and the RPM where it hit that HP number.

If you want as much "umph" as possible to pull your 5th wheel and are going for the 3500, why would you not get the Duramax?

Hi,

Im in Canada and 360 hp looks like they pulled it on the 2500 and 3500 you can only get the 322hp flex fuel with the valve timing doo hickey. I will have the 410 rear end. My 03 truck has the

383 rear and 300hp and will pull my 5th but could do with more power on the hills. As for too cheap for diesel the only time I use it is as a snowbird to get to where i,m going and back so an extra ten Gs can be used better elsewhere.

Why not look at getting yourself an 07 classic 25/3500 with a diesel...that takes care of the extra 10G, and than some.

If your worried about warranty, just buy an extended package at the dealership.

I just did a build and price on GM.ca and you can still get the 360HP 6.0 litre in both styles. As a 3/4 ton truck that is the only option that pops up for a gas engine. On a 1 ton you get either the 322 hp version or the 360 HP version if the truck comes as a cab and chassis only. How heavy of a trailer are you pulling? For twice a year I don't see much point in running a diesel. More expensive to buy, maintain, and unloaded not huge gains in mileage that can ever make up the additional costs. If you lived hooked to a heavy trailer in the other hand....... screw buying a pickup and buy a real truck with 10 tires and straight cut gear transmission...... lol. Overkill, I know.
