Ordered from Rockauto on Thursday July 7th and had it shipped with First Class mail for like $2.83 and got the part on Saturday July 9th! It would have taken longer if I'd paid more for the UPS shipping! HAHA

I installed the new flasher P/N 10383320 in my 05 1500HD and it took care of the parking lights staying on constantly, but now my turn signals are doing the "hyperflash" going twice as fast as before. No big deal to me, but it doesn't work as it did before with the OEM P/N 15764135. I haven't hooked up my trailer to the truck yet to see if that changes anything, since then it would be the 3/6 combo instead of the 2/4 like the original flasher had printed on the case. The new flasher P/N 10383320 does have 3/6 printed on it. The hazard lights do flash at the normal speed though, just the turn signals are twice as fast. Oh well! HAHA

Awesome information in there. Thanks for that. I'm going to dig this topic out since it relates to a previous post I made and this answered it.

So, is RockAuto the best place you've found ? GM says 84 or 110$ or so depending on the model (the one ending with 20 or 21).

Guys, thanks for the great help. I am using Part Number: 10383321 to replace the old flasher as I had the same problems-- left turn signal turned on hazard lights. Also, I noticed that my third brake light stopped working, too. I wonder if this new flasher will fix that as well? I'm going install it (using the great pictures posted here) soon and let you know. As far as pricing? The BEST price I've found is at Amazon.com, believe it or not. I paid $46.40 with free shipping and received my part in under 5 working days. Stay away from the dealer though-- $98.00 + TAX here in Maryland.

Last one Pic 11.

What I think is happening here is the relay for the left blinker circuit gets stuck, either by the contacts getting hot and fusing together temporarily or the chip gets hot and keeps the relay holding circuit energized when it should be deenergized. Either way I feel dumb as hell when I go to turn left and my flashers go off.

RockAuto lists two replacement parts for this module...

P/N 10383321 is supposed to be the Superceding P/N for the old GM P/N 15764135

&

P/N 10383320 which is supposed to be part of a trialering package. I read a post where a guy used the 10383320 P/N and had no problems. It is also $21.00 cheaper than the replacement P/N. I'll be ordering this one today.

Best of luck.

Great post and photos, took my relay out and cleaned all contacts, "blinker circuit was getting stuck", put it back in, works fine.

Thanks,

Ron

Had the same issue, left turn working intermitantly. Replaced stalk with no luck and this module was solved the issue. Tried filing contact with no luck. Replaced at NAPA $30.

My problem is on a 04 2500 duramax . When I switch on the turn signal or flashers the proper turn lights come on but nothing flashes. It is the same with or without the trailer. I am guessing that it is this flasher module at fault. Correct ???

Thanks for the pics on how and where to find the module. I was at my wits end looking for it.

the cheaper one is for trucks not using led lights. On my 2005 Denali I had similar issues, but it turned out to be a ground issue. tank a multimeter and check the resistance on the ground. I did not feel like getting un the truck to chase the problem so i took some wire and taped into the harnes and screwed it into the body with a self taper lol.

How did you determine which wire is the ground wire . Did you look for it in the wires coming to the relay or in all the wires coming to the fuse panel. I do think it is a good idea to check out the ground as a bad ground can cause all kinds of unusual problems

Thanks

I checked the ground from the plug. I don't remember the wire colors but I believe it was green or black.

I will not have access to my wiring diagrams until I get him on Jan 8th

I got to thinking .....the flasher in my 05 suburban should be the same , I checked and it was. I pulled it out and tried it in my 04 truck and ,problem solved. I never did figure out how to check the ground but it appears I don't need to. I used Napa part # Lm 455 for the new replacement flasher module. All is good again. Thanks for the help.

Have an 04 gmc 1500 sierra slt, the left blinker quit working intermittently now it won't work at all unless the brake pedal is depressed and i use the signal manually. The right blinker has always worked just fine. Read this post and bought a flasher relay modual from ORileys auto parts this morning. The modual was supposed to replace part number 10383321. Put it in and now the right blinker won't work.

Now what do i do? Paid $80 for the part and it is not returnable. Put the old module back in. Will take it out and clean contacts, but doubt that will help.

What is my next step? Please help.

Thanks, tpafleng for the info and photos! Installed a Novita LM487 flasher relay, LED compatible, $55 from O'Reilly Auto Parts. Works great, full LED lamps, no more hyperflash.
