HD Crew, anybody have any feedback on Volant cold air intakes. I heard they are a lot better than K & N and are the only true cold air intake. Any feedback how you like them and how was installation. I have and 2009 2500HD with the 6.0 and 4.10 gears. Thanks

I am not sure that any of the CAI systems are better than others....they are all overpriced and really do not add much power until you get to 4000 rpms....then it is a marginal gain.

Anyway, I had a Volant on an older truck a few years ago and it did not do any better than anything else....

What I have now is a $79 ebay cheapie unit and replaced the cheap filter with a K&N cone filter....it has the chrome intake tube and I honestly cannot tell any difference once it is installed...the quality of the parts seems as good as anything else I have ever used....

it would be an efficient waste of your money. Your truck would also experience inreased wear rate from all the additional dirt you will be allowing into the motor, some of this also gets into the oil.

Good luck finding a "true" CAI that is better than stock.

I have a Volant on my truck and it works fine. I also have the ram air tube kit available for my 06. I notice a little gain at hwy speed and around town drives the same. Volant is quiet underhood. Kand N seems to make much more noise when accelerating. I think this is a personal preferance.

Thanks for the info!
