This is my first post, so I just wanted to say hi...great site...very informative.

Ive been lurking around here for about a month now. I am a proud owner of a 2007 ECSB LTZ silverado with the Vortecmax. I really do love this truck.

 

I was wondering why do some Vmax trucks have the slot in the front bumper and some do not?

 

Second question......Does anyone know how many 1500 series trucks were produced with the Vortec Max 6.0 in 2007?

There must be some production numbers available somewhere.

In 2007/08, the NHT equipped trucks came with the "High-Flow" (slotted) bumper. Not all VMax trucks were NHT equipped.

Welcome to the site. We need some pics of that truck!

 

The trucks that have slots (2007-2008) are trucks witht the tow package. Now for 2009+ all of the 1500's have slotted bumpers.

 

I have no idea on the numbers made.

The NHT package included the slotted bumper,along with specific cooling fan motors,rear leaf springs,Z85 suspension,and 4.10 gears on 4wd models. They were also limited to the 17" inch wheels/tires.

As Jeff also posted,not all 6-liter VMAX trucks have the NHT pkg. (As mine and his do not have it)

 

Specific production numbers on VMAX trucks are not available.

Well that must mean I do not have the "NHT" package, because I have no slot in my fron bumper.

 

I purchased my 07 Vmax about a month ago and I absolutley love it! Never thought I would be so excited about my daily driver. I like this truck so much that Im having second thoughts about driving it on the salt and gravel covered roads this winter. But it is a truck and I might as well enjoy it .

 

Ive included a few pics of my truck below. It is basically all stock, which is the way I prefer to buy them. I plan on a few simple mods starting with 3M Protection film on the front and door bottoms, GM molded slash gaurds, GM rear inner wheelhouse liners, GM bed and tailgate mat, RC leveling kit, tonneau cover, and HID fogs.

 

I would also like to join in on the Black Bear Tune in MN this coming spring.

 

Ive also included a pic of my 67 Camaro. I see some of you guys are into that sort of thing as well.

Good looking car!! :D How about some more specs on it. Have you ever ran it? I can't tell from the pic on my screen are you running ladder bars or do I see something like caltracs or slida links?

 

You are going to love your Black Bear tune. Justin likes tuning the 6.0 and 6.2 trucks they really respond well. There are a couple mustangs around here that have been shocked by my grocery getter :)

Interesting info. I wonder how I have the Z71 package and NHT? Another strange deal was when I purchased the truck and used my GM card dollars, the VIN showed it to be a "classic"... I didn't argue as it allowed me to use $3500 vs $1500 redemption allowance...

      What meaningful corrections were done to fix the "machining errors?"   I bet nothing, because the 6.2 is soon to be obsolete. Why would GM implement any fix let alone an "expensive one?"   Until someone can provide any convincing information that GM did ANYTHING to correct the engines - the 6.2 is no for me.    Which means keeping the 2016 Denali longer until the next generation (6.6?) proves itself.

      If my father took a Sunday off. We did the Sunday drive. Usually stopping at a Geno’s for dinner that we eat in the car. Six of us with my little sister up front. It was always a Buick growing up. In New Jersey you couldn’t get lost. Not like Texas.

      I suppose I am Atlas. It can always be worse, eh?   I had a friend once that rolled one payment into another until he was paying the price of Benz for a 10 year old back marker. Wouldn't be often you start a new payment the month following your old one.

      I still enjoy the drive   Some people fish when they retire; some golf. I drive. We've lived in the same general area now for twenty eight years and I'm still finding at least monthly some sweet quite little road to explore. When I tell the Mrs. I'm heading out for coffee she knows that could be a five hour event. Often she even goes along.    I like finding new rural routes used mainly by the locals that start nowhere in particular and end the same way. Many in the area of that type are narrow paved and twisty, hilly and run through field and timber. Often along creeks or wetlands. Unfarmable areas of great natural beauty.    After years of this type of exploration they start to fit together. One ending a mile or so from another and you start threading together a new path from a unfamiliar place to a new adventure. Sometimes to a little town of under five hundred that used to be something before the Interstate or some railroad or US highway bled the life out of it that has a small dinner with the greatest slice of pie you've eaten since grandma made her last. A little village museum or library or even a town square park with grand old oak, walnut and Osage orange trees to sit under while you sip you gas station coffee and chat up some locals.    Often they are full of stories about the main streets more interesting buildings and the who's who of the area. Sometimes some hidden attraction or unseen history. Our area is full of old coal mines.     A younger self used to do this going cross country by motorcycle. Only a general area as a destination with no time to get there and no time to be back. Sitting at days end in a 10 unit off the main highway motel under a Sycamore tree yacking with the owner or his one semipermanent guest while I adjusted valves or the chain. Always a wave and a shout "Hey there stranger"!  It's how I came by my love of old Brit iron. There is no such things as a ten minute gas stop when your on a Enfield or a vintage Triumph. Same being true of old cars.    If you take the time to really look I've found everywhere is someplace interesting. Illinois or West Virginia. Different and yet the same.    People are in a more relaxed mood and will talk about anything and everything and if they like you there may be a cupp'a or a lemonade and a sandwich in it. 😉
