Costar Users With Iphone 3gs, Gm's Sync?

My OnStar just ran out and I'm looking to add Bluetooth to the truck. I have an iPhone 3G but I'll be getting a GS in December. The GS has the voice control capability and (supposedly) in the iPhone 3.1 software the voice control function could be used via Bluetooth. So, if this is all true, could you use the Costar interface as a sort of Sync like capability. With the phone connected to the radio's line in and the Costar in place. Think about it, press the button on the steering wheel and name a song/artist to listen to, or contact to call.

 

I was looking at the Pioneer F or X series as a Sync like capability, but that costs close to a grand with all of the extra parts (harnesses, dash kits, etc). I just don't know that I can get that one past the Minister of War and Finance (Wife).
