Remote Start Option

I have a 2007 Silverado (new body) and wanted to know if the remote start feature is there and just not turned on. I've been told that the feature is there if I get the correct remote and have the option activated by a tech.

thanks.

Look in your glovebox for the RPO code of AP8 (Remote start prep). If you have it, you have the transceiver for the remote start and can have it programmed. If not, then you are out of luck. You cannot just purchase the remotes either. You must have a 16 digit VCI code that the dealer sends to GM. GM then send back a new program for your body control module that activates the remote start. This is all in the accessory kit 17801236. Two remotes, the code, instructions for the dealer (some are almost incompetent) and even a new sticker for your glove box that says a dealer installed RPO of AP3 (remote start) has been installed. Should be about 175.00 + whatever the dealer charges to program. Good luck

Perfect, I found the AP8 code on the sticker in the glove box. Thanks for the info.
