aceshot18a Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 Background Info: 1995 S-10 w/4.3 z motor, changed out with 2000 w motor, Kept the z motor heads, intake and TBI. The entire cooling system is new and still the temp gauge still show that the water temp red lines before the thermostat opens. Water is flowing in the right direction, and works OK after thermostat opeans. With the exception the open/close swing on the temp gauge is about a 30 to 50 degree swing. Any Ideas????
txab Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 Are you using the stock dash gauge or something else? Are you experiencing symptoms of overheat? Or just believing the temp gauge? With a scanner hooked up you should be able to read what temps you're getting. Got the correct temp thermostat? Even new, a thermostat might still stick.
