Recall On Steering Shaft

Someone was telling me there is a recall on the steering shaft on the 04's? Is that true or not

I had an 2001 and it was also under recall.

There have been plenty of bulletins on it,but never a recall.

No recall whatsoever. Go buy the shaft and put it in yourself. Takes less than 1 hour

I had a 2005 Silverado and the Chevy dealer replaced my intermediate shaft for free. Not sure weather it was recall or something else as MS3DALE said ,but it was replaced no $$$ outta my pocket. Can't hurt to ask your local dealer.

A bulletin can allow the Dealer to replace a part if and when it goes bad.

 

A recall is usually safety related and requires the part be replaced whether it is bad or not.
