i don't know the full details, but, in-short, here's what I do know.

 

A Weather-man for a local News station forecasted a good snow-storm. The Storm never came, so the police arrested the weather-man for lying.

 

Now how F-ed up is that?

General, I saw that on TV but it was in another country...Malaysia or there abouts if I remember right.  Still screwed up....but they do things VERY differently in other countries....

It was in Rio de Janero, Brazil.  He forecast a storm on a big party night in the city (maybe New Years Eve?) and alot of people stayed home or in their hotels, so the Mayor is pressing charges because he claims it hurt the local economy.  There is actually a law that he quoted, but I can't remember what it was.

That's pretty screwed up.  Imagine if we did that to the weather people here.
