I am needing to install my wet okole seat covers on my 2008 GMC Sierra Vortec MAX. I need to remove the factory TV screen headrest. There is a wire running into the seat. How do I get into the back of the seat to remove wires? Please Help! Thanks!

From the service manual...

1. Depress the button on the inboard head restraint guide to raise the head restraint to the full up position.

2. Insert a small diameter tool into the hole on the inboard side of the outboard head restraint guide and pull upward to remove.

Ya, I know how to remove them. The problem is that I have the DVD headrest. There is a wire running into the seat. Therefore, I cant NOT remove the headrest all the way. I need to know how to take the back of the seat off to gain access to the wire running into seat. Thanks though!

Opps sorry Doc,The hard plastic panel on the back of the seat does come off,From the service manual...

1. On the right and left sides of the upper portion of the seatback panel, insert a flat bladed tool between the seatback panel and the seat back cushion to release the upper retainer tabs on each side.

2. Push the tool against the tabs to release.

3. Carefully flex the seatback panel outward to slide the top tabs out of the retainer slots.

4. On right and left sides of the lower portion of the seatback panel, insert a flat bladed tool between the seatback panel and the seat back cushion to release the retainer tabs.

5. Carefully pull back on the seatback panel, all released tabs must be clear of all obstructions.

6. Lift up on the panel to remove from the bottom of the seat back frame, using a flat bladed tool to disengage the bottom clips if necessary.

Thanks! I got the back of the seats off. The wire runs all the way from the DVD headrest to the nav/radio. :/ This is going to be a much greater task than I had expected.
