Blacked Out Headlights

Has anyone blacked out the headlights on a gmt900?

Never really got into the whole blacked out thing. They look good . just not my style

There is a guy or two on here who have. Just don't remember who it was. If there were an easier way to do it I would

Why? If you black them out, wouldn't they be much dimmer? Unless you take them off before night time use and then it's inconvenient.

 

I don't get the blacked out thing. Is it a style thing?

You black out the chrome around the reflector, looks pretty good, I want to do it, just haven't.

I wouldn't do the headlights, I would black out the taillights though.

Did it to my Tacoma... looked nice. Will do it to the Silverado as well. Some folks say baking melts the mounting tabs, so I may try heat gun. I don't want to cut the lens off like some folks...

I considered it but thought it would look weird on my front end, so I just painted over the amber part to mask it.

It doesnt affect the light output if you paint only the housings and not the reflectors (the right way to do it). If you were to paint everything, your light output would be HORRIBLE. It looks really good! I'd do it but my truck is WD and it would look weird.

I am going to be using HIDs in it and i want to black out the inside as well as the turn signal part. just trying to see what they look like before I do it and if anybody had any tips on doing it, i.e. what kind of paint to use and stuff like that.

youre going to have to sand the chrome off of the parts youre going to paint, prime and paint
