275/70/17 Bfg At

Has anyone ran or seen a set of the 275/70/17 BFG AT's on a GMT900? Been thinking about giving these a try over the 265/70. They're .4" taller than the 265's... I doubt there'd be an issue on a unleaveled 09 Z71. Thanks!

Hope someone helps you out on this, because I'm wanting to do the same thing. Only thing that worries me is going from a P to a LT rated tire. I've got a reg cab Z71, so it rides rough anyway, so I don't think I'll notice much of a difference on mine anyway. I don't want to go all the way up to the 285 tire. If you decide to go this route, PM me or let me know. My OEM tires still have like 50% tread left, so I have a while to go before I can change.

They should work fine.

 

The outside diameter would be 32.15".

 

I put 275/65R18 on my Sierra Denali today. Their outside diameter is 32.07" and they do not rub at all.

 

I took off 285/55/R20 tires with an outside diameter of 32.34 that also did not rub.

 

I made some measurements deciding between 275/70R18 (33.2") and 275/65R18. I decided that the 33.2" 275/70R18 tires would rub at the back of the tire at full lock. I believe that anything up to 33" diameter should be fine.

I would guess there shouldn't be any fitment issues. I was leaning towards a leveling kit and 285's, but think the 275/70's will work better for my application.

I considered a leveling kit until I realized that it would effect the balance of the truck with a load and reduce the amount of weight I could carry in the bed and the weight of trailer weight that could be towed.

 

I then considered lifting both ends 3" but decided that would not work well loading the family.

I cant figure out why your regular cab would be rough on "any" tires. Is it a heavy duty half ton, or a 2500 or 3500? I have a reg cab 4X4 Z71 1500 short box with new E rated tires, and it rides better than some cars. I had C rated tires before i went to the E rated tires and never saw any noticeable difference in the ride. One thing I like about the E rated tires is the handling! It seems to have a more positive steering feel.

Bought the 275/70/17 Silent Armor tires today. very nice look and a quiet ride. Makes my '07 Sierra feel like a new truck again. If only it didn't burn oil, which hopefully I will get fixed on Monday.
