Anyone Play Hockey?

Just wondering who else plays hockey or used to play.

 

Just the other day I went with my 8 year old nephew to the local outdoor hockey rink. He just started skating this year, so he has alot of catching up to do. I used to play year round and played summer college leagues since I was 14, but it just didn't pan out for me. Went along to show him a thing or two. Anyways, ended up playing a pick up game with the local high school players and I wooped up on them rather easily. Wasn't too surprised though, as that is why I left that area to play elsewhere years ago. I hadn't even put skates on in over 8 years! LOL

 

Anyone else play competitively or just for fun?

Love the sport, played roller hockey with friends years ago. Too frail for that stuff now. I can only watch on TV.

Myself and a few other guys I work with go play outdoor hockey at a park in town, just for fun. We have a lot of inland lakes around too. I was going to try making my own rink in my backyard this year but it's been in the upper 30's/lower 40's for the past week. Sucks cause I wanna see how it goes!! I have room to do a 50'x100' rink, plus a fire pit will be in the corner to warm up near if we ever get a chance to play again.

I plan to do the same. Our son is only 4 months old, but in a few years he will be skating.
