Hey guys Quick Question....

Looking for the aluminum skid plate for under the truck, I have the one at work that came off a 2002 gmc 2500HD. I want to put one on my 2009 gmc 2500HD. Is the chassis the same? or will I have to buy one from the dealer for the 2009? Thanks!

Doesn't your 09' have skid plates?

I'm pretty sure the chassis is mostly the same, additional crossmembers have been added, not sure if the skid plates mounting holes match-up.

it has the plastic one in the front, but nothing under the oil pan.... I guess I could just hold it up there to see if it fits! I have the HD trailering package which doesn't allow the z-71 which i think has the skid plates in it..... but who knows!

I too have the HD trailering package on my 06. Z85 is the suspension code on mine and I also have a plastic piece instead of a metal skid plate. I thought about spending some $$ to have some custom ones made for me out of diamond plate. I think it would protect better and look better. Though I guesss we don't see the bottom of these trucks that often unless we're working on them.

I feel the same way. Just a FYI, the skid plate of my 02 does fit the 09, the only thing I found is (this may help you) the bolt holes are not tapped, so I have to tap them to use the original bolts. Just so you know!
