I plan on doing a motor swap of a 4.8 for a 6.0 :loser: ...but i was wondering if in the long run if it would be better if I went with a duramax insted of a gasoline... :D

You'll need a donor truck for a Dmax swap... just to much involved. A 6.0 would be a direct bolt in.

Because your gonna have to swap a whole lot more than just the motors.

haha, good point. oh, one more thing...are the motor mounts for the 4.8 and 6.0 LQ4 the same or am I going to have to buy new mounts?

Fuel lines, Wireing harness, fuel tank, gauge cluster, transmission, motor mounts, motor, radiator, and more for a diesel swap.

As far as the 6.0 goes, it's no motor mounts needed :loser: but would probably put new ones in anyways, but thats the least of your worries. Look up DV2000NJ, he's doing the swap right now in his truck.

Same mounts...but if your engine is gone...so are your mounts....buy new ones.

I would do the diesel swap my self...I'd drive my 4.8L to the nearest lot and swap it for a D-max.

the thought of the Dmax swap just crossed my mind during class lol but i think im gonna go ahead with the 6.0...gas is cheaper than diesel lmao

The gas swap is much cheaper. You just need the engine, wiring harness, trans, and PCM...oh and I think you'll need a new drive shaft, the 4L80 is a few inches longer than the 4L60..oh and a new trans mount (or you can modify yours).

You don't NEED the 4L80e.. but you will need to update your 4L60e trans with some better internals. :loser:

I have a manual trans. so thats not a big deal lol

Ok, then you'll need a 14-bolt rear end :loser::D
