What Happened To My Seats

So last night I hopped in my truck it was like -20 with the wind chill so I go to turn my heated seat on no juice in both seats power seat on drivers side did not work but the passengers side did. The whole night they were busted but after about 15 mins of driving this morning everything worked fine and still does my truck is a 04 1500 ext cab z71 would this have been caused by the cold or is this shit starting to break

I had a similar problem with intermittent dead seat heater and power seat in my '05 Sierra. This was last spring and it would not work some days and then other days it would. This fall it started to act up again so I took it in. They found that the hot wire (carrying electricity) in the harness had melted off and was getting a bad connection. They bypassed it around the harness and now it works perfect. $60 to fix, but it sure feels good to have heat in the seat when the temp is -10.
