Front Wheelhouse Removal

Newbie here.. owned Chevy (and GM) trucks for a bunch of years. First was a '77 GMC w/454 (wow, passed everything but gas stations!) Then an 87 or 88... the last year, I believe for that body style, current is a 1997 Silverado 4X4 5.7.. LOVE IT!

Question is: Can the inner fender liner (wheelhouse) be removed without taking off the outer fender? I have some shopping cart damage, right at the edge of the wheel well and I *might* be able to take the dent out without breaking paint if I can get the liner off.. I'd rather not take off the outer but would if I have to...

Wayne, on my 97 Tahoe there are several bolts inside the wheel housing that you remove. There are a couple of pieces and the bolts are 15mm if I remember correctly.

Thanks, it looks dooable... Going to wait for a bit more sun then dive in and see how well I can do at removing the dent.
