Bluetooth Problems

Hi,

My Bluetooth suddenly stoped working. It is paired to a Blackberry Tour. It has been working since i'v picked up the truck in October. It connects when truck starts but when making a call and recieving a call nothing happens and the headset on the phone is silent. I have to switch to headset speaker through the phone in order to take the call. When trying to place a call through steering wheel controls nothing happens. I deleted the phone and re-paired it and everything paired but still nothing through radio.

Any Ideas??

Did you double check to make sure your bluetooth on the phone is on? I have a touch screen smart phone and I sometimes inadvertentlly turn off the phone's blue tooth.

I had a Blackberry World Edition 8830 that worked perfectly with my Chrysler Pacifica and my 2009 GMC Sierra 1500...I 'upgraded' to the BB Bold and it worked in my Pacifica but has issues with the truck. It would successfully pair and connect to the Sierra...but when I would make a call or answer...the bluetooth connection with "General Motors" would terminate and I would have to use the handset. Immediately after disconnecting or completing the call...I would get the prompt to connect to "General Motors" and it would be successful. If a call came in...or I wanted to call...the bluetooth connection would terminate and I would have to use the handheld.

Tried 3 different BB Bolds, 1 BB Tour, 1 BB Curve and 1 BB Storm.

The consensus is that the Bold and Tour DON'T work with my 2009 Sierra...the Curve and Storm do. All work with my Pacifica...but I need one Blackberry to work with everything.

GM says it's the phone, Verizon says it's simply compatibility...haven't contacted Blackberry...I give up...I'm getting a Curve...done, over...back to hands-free!

Just had a resolution to the problem and left a reply on another post...this is from the Engineers at GM...finally...a solution after 5 months of frustration!

My Blackberry Bold is pairing with Bluetooth!

1) select "manage connections" in the BB menu

2) select "bluetooth options

3) under paired devices, highlight the "General Motors" entry that corresponds to his 2009 GMC

4) press menu button

5) select "options"

6) scroll down to "contacts transfer" and select "Disabled"

7) save changes

test again (I had to pull the battery on the phone to get it to pair up again...after having to delete the profiles...but this was the "easy part")

We have seen issues where the phone tries to pass the phone book contents and that generation module does not support.

There you have it!

Good Luck to all who have continued issues!

Nick,

I'd following your steps with my BB Bold and even took off the battery from BB and still didn't pair.

I just got VCIM=20783877 with Ant=15938939 installed today on my 2007 chevy truck with (originally ) has Onstar (never used ) and call PB on steering wheel.

After i installed it, i tried to pair 1st time and it (BB) did find General Motors (BT), but it asked me to entre security code for GM ? What is security code for GM ? I have no idea ! Is't security for my BB ?

So i ignored it and finishing up reinstall all covers back.

Now it won't even see the GM BT device anymore. I tried very thing and still didn't pair or see the device.

Any help, thank you all

the pair code is 0000 or 1234, skipping the code will not allow the devices to pair..

I don't recall the exact verbage, but if you press and hold the "talk" button on the steering wheel and say "bluetooth" then "paired Devices " (pretty sure that is it, you can say HELP and it will tell you) then Delete all the paired devices.

delete the GM BT item on the phone then turn the bluetooth OFF on your phone..

--

after the devices are deleted, hang up, turn the BT on the phone back on, and then start the pairing process over again.

most likely you have bad pair data and the 2 devices are not talking to each other correctly, the only fix is to delete everything and start over..

Thx Old-Chevy-Dude

It works now after after deleting and pairing with PB on steering wheel.

FYI, For the security code is for the truckBT code, when you're pairing and your phone found the device, the voice (in the truck ) will give you the security code (4 digit numbers ) to enter on your phone.

Thx again
