305/50/20 On Level Truck

Would 305/50's fit on a my sierre. I currently have a Rough Country 3" lift with 275/55. Im looking to go a little bigger and wider. I know 305/55 will not fit, i know 285/55 will but they are outrageously expensive for that size. I can get general grabber at2 in the 305/50 for 200 a tire. Thoughts?

I have 305/55/20's on my 08 2500 and they rub the sway bar and wheel well liner. They were on the truck (stock height) when I bought it and now I'm trying to sell them (see the link below). If your truck is raised a bit they may work... http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/pts/1592821365.html

I will check it out.... I have a 3" lift it sits just about the exact level of the 2500hd or maybe higher.

I have 305/50/20s on my stock suspension Tahoe. One thing I do recommend, is flipping the shock bolts.

Is that possible with my 3" lift... i Have a spacer underneath it...

Yes, the big issue will be the bs and offset of your wheels.

I have the factory wheels. I believe its somewhere between 5.5 to 6.

I was told the 285/55 would fit the stock wheels. They avg 11.75 wide the 305/50 avg 12.4 wide so its a little more than a half inch. I would really like to run the 305/55 but those are 33/12.50 and from what im seeing even with my lift i cant see them fitting with the stock wheels....

also would a 275/65 fit. They measure 34/11.30..... i would be close on the diameter but the width stays the same as the stock 275/55...

Im tryin to either fill the wheel well or put a nice set of wider tires on it. I cant have both unfortunatley...

The thing you have to remember, is the closer into the wheel well the wheel fits, the more room you will need for that wide tire to clear. My wheels are 6.12"bs on a 9.5"wide wheel, and I did have some rubbing on the inner fender when wheels were at a full crank. I had the shock bolts flipped immediately, as I could see them rubbing the tires in the rear as well.

Cooper zeon ltz 275/60/20

A wheel store guy tells me 305/55/20 A/T would fit without rubbing... Hummm well maybe with the factory +35mm offset? Who knows.... I think the 285/55/20 would be a perfect size, but it's only in nitto 10 ply for a grip of cash, if you want all terrain tire. Well with my +10mm offset wheel, I'm about 3/8" (measured) from rubbing on inner plastic while turning, with the 275/60/20. I would say 275/55/20, or 285/50/20 would be a safer bet. Both a tad bit wider, but 1" shorter. I read and investigated for about 3 weeks, and determined everyone had their own opinion on what does/does not work. It appears if you don't want a lifted truck (other than 2.5" leveling kit), and dont want to cut or modify, stay close to factory offset, and stay in the range of 32" high, and no more than 12" wide... On the conservative side, I would probibly go with 275/55/20 for my next tire due to my rim offset. If anyone has the Cooper in 275/55/20, and wants to trade the 55 for the 60, I only have about 50 miles on the tires (2 days old). I hope my research can be helpful to someone...

i would like to get 285/55 but i do not want to spend 1500 in tires. 305/50 are the same height and a bit wider. Anyone have a definate if they will fit or not.....

Also anyone have an idea if the 275/65 would fit (34.00/11.3). Measuring my wheel wells it looks to fit and is no wider than the stock 275/55.

I have a stock suspension avalanche 1500 z-71 with 305-50-20's on it with no leveling kit with out any rubbing what so ever!

The wheels are MOTTO and the tires are Cooper LTZ ZEON with a pretty aggressive tread they are a great off road and snow tire, with great street qualities, ( they are quieter than the Toyo Proxess ST sticky street tire) i would recommend them to anyone

What year is your Avalanche? i have an 07 LTZ 2X4 and I am expereincing rubbing in the rear, on the inner plastic. I just got the Cooper Zeon LTX 305/50/20 on friday.. My first turn out of the parking lot, and heard rubbing. Not sure what I should do now. Down size back to original (275/55/20) or bend the plastic?
