Hood Latch Too High!

Shortly after I bought my pickup I noticed that the hood shakes around while driving it. I assumed at first that it just needed the bumpers adjusted, but quickly realized that not to be the case. The latch mechanism is actually too high, and the part of the core support that four smaller rubber bumpers would normally contact is too low for them to even touch. Upon closer inspection I realize that the hood latch itself is not adjustable like th old-school ones, and that that whole structure must be moved. Any help? Anyone else run into this one?

I "fixed" it temporarily by placing some stick-on rubber bumpers under where those four snubbers would normally contact the core support, but I want to fix it the right way.

Is it under warranty still? Did you purchase used, and if so did you get a carfax or equivalant report from the dealership?

I did buy it used, but it has not been wrecked. I am a former ASE certified collision tech and I know what to look for. I took another look at it this morning, and it really looks like wierd one, like a mis-stamped part maybe.. I know from experience that it happens.

I remember reading a post from another guy who had this same problem, but I can't find it for the life of me!

Just take it to a dealer. Unless you're over the mileage its still under warranty. Let them figure it out. :uhoh:

I may have to do that. I'd love to just fix it myself, I live out in the middle of nowhere (2 hours from nearest stealership) and it's our only vehicle. I'm sure I could get it squared away if I take the entire front end apart and put it back together, but I'd prefer to avoid that. Just hoping someone else has had the issue and has already figured out which adjustment needs to be made. I know there is another post on it, but as I stated before I am unable to find it.
