Focker Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 I just picked up this 1988 GMC Sierra SLE...It's a one owner with 49,199.4 original miles. An older gentlemen bought it new and passed away 12 years ago. I work with the seller and I grabbed it for $2000.
Jubei69 Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Welcome and grats, if that truck is in nice shape mechanical shape, you got yourself a very nice truck.
Focker Posted February 15, 2010 Author Posted February 15, 2010 Thanx...Other than some fadded interior pieces and a sagging headliner it's overall cosmetics are nice. Mechanically sound...Runs smooth and solid. Even though it has low mileage the PO's Son took good care of it. I just got done installing a 2" leveling kit...Done within one hour...Easy Peasy!
Stevens03 Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Good lord, awesome looking truck. Congrats and welcome to the site!
ryan_hermanutz Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Welcome, nice and clean looking truck too.
Jubei69 Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 Actually that truck, paint wise from the pics is pretty immaculate and the low mileage for that year truck is unheard of. You got a bargain at 2k, I would easily have given more for that truck, 2k is what people pay around here for a project truck of that year, that would have gone for $4000+ here in DFW... That is the cleanest stock late 90's GMC/Chevy I've proably seen.
Focker Posted February 16, 2010 Author Posted February 16, 2010 I couldn't pass it up and for the record the woman's Son was inlvoled so I can't be blammed for taking advantage of a little old lady. I've been driving a 87 Toyota one ton with AC and factory column shift automatic (ever seen that?) since selling my 98 Chevy 4WD. I sold the 98 because I hardly drove it but couldn't stand paying $200 a month plus insurance to have it sit in the driveway (I was riding a bike or motorcycle). I sold it and bought my Toyota for $1000. I really liked the Toyota because it was fugly and I didn't care what happened to it or who borrowed it. Now I have this clean one owner GMC that I'll probably baby (even though I say I won't...lol). Get this...I sold it on Craigs List Saturday in under 2 hours for $1500. It had 174k miles and was getting 14MPG. My 98 Chevy 4X4. Current...After 2" leveling shackles. I really like having a clean GM truck again!
