Just wondering if anyone has dealt w/ MAACO? I'm thinking of painting my truck white and was curious about the cost, quality, etc.

Say no to Maaco. They screwed up my cousins truck so bad it needed repainted 3 times. And the first time was the best of the 3.

They're are many law suites against them. Google them.

stay away from maaco, you might want to look up reviews for local service kings and see what kind of reviews they have and also look for local high end repair centers and read up on their reviews and pricing...

lol you know what a maaco is right? It's a shark lol the name fits them, they are sharks preying on new, naive, non automotive knowledge people...

NO maaco STAY AWAY my brother had his 1995 truck painted there it started peeling about 4 months after..They do a shitty prep and the paint they use is low quality..but that just my 2 cents

As with anything in life, more often than not, you get what you pay for. 250 bucks to paint a car seems a little too good to be true. Go to a reputable auto body shop and get it done right the first time. It would be worth it.

No way. I used to work for an autobody shop and I have seen what Maaco does.

Now consider this- 8 posts to this thread, 6 comments specifically on Maaco, and all 6 say don't do it. I doubt you'll get one good comment from anyone really.

Now, go hide your truck before Maaco finds it!

If money is the issue and your looking for cheap paint job for woods truck go for it. If you want some better quality but still have cash flow issues check out local technical schools you know the ones they advertise on TV that students pay to too. Most of them will do the job for supplies and a little labor or donation to the students etc. You can check your local high school and junior or community collages.

Painters and body men come from someplace and these are just a few or take a local community collage course and do it yourself.

Most of these places will try to a do a good job for you, alittle discussion with the instructor will let you know if they live up to your expectations. I had a the local High School paint a 68 Camaro for me that I was selling. It cost me $300.00 in supplies and about 3 months since they did some minor body work also. The kid there ened up being a painter at ahigh end shop about 2 year later and he has some talent. The job looked like it cost a few grand and I was very satisfide.

Before selling the school asked me to drop it off at school car show. It earned a people choice award that day for show favorite. I sold the car about 3 months later after doing some detail work. I paid 5K for it and sold it for 17.5K plus a got another 68 Camaro body/parts car in trade for it. I donated $1,500.00 from that sale back to the school for technical school scholarship.

I was satisfide, the school made out and a kid got discount of some tution. It pays to look around and think out of the box a little.

Yes the car looked as good close up as it does in these pictures. They color sanded and buffed it. They messed up the stripe in front a little where it wraps at the bumper but the rest was great. Check out your local schools!!

Also the MACO painter if they stick with it learn to spray a car and handle a paint gun. It's the prep and materials that can really suck at these places. Some of them have painters that are working production and learn to really lay a nice coat of paint. Maybe if you find a good one you could get side job done at his home or ??? You need to be carefull of doing this though and never pay them anymore that what is needed for materials and go get the materials with them so you know your getting good stuff. Agree to pay them after they are done and agree on a time frame, you may even ask if you can help sand and prep etc to aid in getting the job done but don't ask to get it done cheaper if your going to help.......you would not train someone to do what you do for a living for free would you?
