Cruise Control Wiring

So, the cruise control on my 94 Sierra stopped working and I found the problem was in the multifunction switch the wires had been kinked and broken. Well, with my handy little Chilton book (most of the time it is handy), I went out, pulled the wire out of the column and then looked at adding a rocker switch and two push button switches to emulate the original.

Now is the problem. The wiring diagrams I have reference completely differnt colors codes than are in the truck and I can only figure out (without doing this at 26mph on the road) how to figure out which of the wires go where. I can get the 12vdc, no prob and that is a common between all switches. The other three are Cruise on/off (toggle), S/C, and R/A. What I have is a 4 pin connector at the bottom of the column on the column side the colors are Red,Brn,Green,Yellow...on the truck side they are Red, Red, Green, Yellow. The color codes in Chilton (Haynes) are Brn for 12vdc, Gry for on/off, DkBlue for S/C, and Gry/blk for R/A.

I have been searching the web for a while now trying to find something and now broke down to ask for help. (my wife would be so proud)

Can someone please assist with either the color code matches or how I can check the different wires for what they do? The CCM is no help as there is nothing legible on it (my grandfather used to take it beach combing and never rinsed it off).

Thank you in advance for you help.
