Anyone Had This Problem

Well, I thought I had spun a bearing or broke my motor. Well it turns out to be a blown converter. You want to talk about relieved.... 4700 vs 1100.. big difference and I would have had to dig further in the til than I wanted to to get it fixed.

Motor, 2004 5.3L 106.000 miles. Never used a drop of oil nor ever had any problems with this motor. I was wondering if anyone else had ever had this issue and is it common for this motor to have this issue?

Thanks.........

Plugged converters are fairly common, its not a big deal, but I agree, some nice Stainless Steel magnaflows would be a nice replacement

Mine didn't plug, they blew apart and were rattling like the engine was going to fall apart. After getting it fixed, I think I am getting better fuel mileage now and got off that ethanol gas!

God love Vancouver Island...if that happened to me it would just be 2 pieces of straight pipe and 2 O2 eliminators for the after cat sensors.
