Wiring An S-15

Hey everybody, I'm new here my name is Morgan.

I was just given a gmc s-15. The previous owner swapped in a 4.3 but never finished the job. The dash is hanging by a hair and there are wires all over the place in the cab.

I'm wondering, what am I in for? Where should I start?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thr first place to start is a good repair manual.

Welcome to the site throw up some pictures when you get a chance. As for the wiring, start with the best wiring book you can find. It's hard to say exactly what was done and what still needs to be done so you might be in for a long ride, but there are some guys on here that are top notch and will help.

Thanks a lot fellas. I have yet to pick up the truck, but I can tell you there are cut wires and crap all over. I'm wondering if it would be a safe bet to get a new harness from a donor truck or what. I'm waiting for a call back to see if the engine itself has been wired up. Idk. It's a free truck, and I just got laid off so, i thought why not.

I only got a quick chance to look at it yesterday, but once i get some details, I'll head out today to tow it to my place
