2007 Silverado Electrical Issue(s)

Newbie here. I tried to find related topics but nothing that I could see identifies this problem. Be kind.

Never had an issue with my 07 crewcab. Went on vacation last month. Come back to a dead battery. Not just a little dead. It took a 25 minute jump to get it to barely crank. Finally it started. Now I have "service 4wd" in message display. On the dash are the Engine, ABS, Brake and Traction control lights. Truck ran groggy for a few days due to computer relearning. After a month, it never died again. Runs fine. It goes into 4 high but not 4 low. I took it to Auto parts store to get codes. I don't have the #'s but one stated "low voltage to 4wd module". The others were also voltage related. The guy cleared them but they came right back. He also said the battery was slightly low, still good but alternator seemed to be slightly overcharging. There is a drain when off of 1.9 amps right after engine shut down. Nothing after market, no accessories plugged in, even disconnected onstar.

I called the dealership. He said it sounded like I needed the computer reprogramed for $125. I've read that they were supposed to do this while under warranty when it was in the shop. I'm at my 3 years but way over on mileage at 52k. I don't care about the lights because the truck runs great. My sticker expired 2/28.

Any help is mucho gracias!

Wasn't there a TSB or even a recall on this issue? My '07 had some type of reprogramming done to the charging system within a few months of purchase. Batteries were being drained while the truck was off, and then not properly charging once the truck ran, or some combination of the two. They would even replace the battery if they thought it had been damaged by the charging system.

Just went threw the same trouble with my 07. There were 2 recalls on this truck, the windsheild washer fluid heater wire and the passenger airbag module. Mine started when you would be driving along the radio, dash lights, door locks and everything else electronic would just start going on and off. Then the dome light wouldn't come on. Then I went out one morning and the truck was totaly dead. This truck was back 3 times for this problem till they finally fixed it. Believe it or not it ended up being the battery cables where bad. They where not sending the right amps, they replaced with new and all is well. Hope this helps.

I had the same issue with everything cycling off and on. Dealer replaced the battery cable but I still have the same issue. Is there TSB on the passenger air bag module causing these problems?

Will they cover it if it's out of warranty?

It could be. Like I said they did the 2 recalls and flashed the computer and replaced the battery cables and I haven't had any issues since. They told me there where broken wires in the cables and it was not giving the proper voltage. I don't no but it did seem to take care of the problem.
