Backup Camera

I have just purchased a new 2009 GMC Denali pickup that has Bose Nav. I would like to add a backup camera. Do the factory harnesses include the connections for the camera at the rear and the nav unit in the dash. Also, will any re-programing of the nav be required.

NAV does not need reprogram. It is plug an play but wire is not there. You have to run it. Check autoanything.com for the kit with camera, wire and new tailgate handle. It is the same parts you would get from dealer. STF for some other ideas about alternative cameras and mounting locations.

Gregorio,

I bought one of the plug and play rear view camera kits(with the GM parts) and when I go to plug in the wires into the to pannel harness one is already occupied.......its a blue wire in reverse plug. White/lite grey harness top most left. Second to the left top plug has an existing wire. This wire gets power when in reverse. The tech for the parts company said its a dead wire, dont know if maybe it has something to do if i would have had navi, but i dont. By the way mine is 2010 silverado hybrid 1HY.

Thanks,

OSIS
