Hill Leveling Kit for 2500HD-pros/cons?

Hey guys, 1st post here, nice site.

I had  the T-bars turned up for me and leafs added in the rear.  The guys at the shop told me I gained about 2" in the rear and 1.5" in the front (how many leafs/turns does that make?) but now I think the Hill Leveling Kit may be a better alternative.  With my set-up, what do you think?

As it is, I don't sit level.  I don't tow huge loads very often, and if I did, I can't see the rear squatting excessively with the tension I've got there, so squatting isn't a huge concern.

What about shocks/alignment/longevity issues?

Would a GMC dealer be able to set the T-bars back to stock easily (as in the proper number of turns) as I don't know how many the shop gave them.

I wish I wasn't so clueless on this, but I am and need a bit of advice.

Thanks in advance,

HD Doug

Do a search on this forum for - ford keys

It seems all the Hill leveling kit contains are Ford Mo Co keys...

By cranking your torsion rods you are upping the spring wieght on the front-end of the truck....a by product is that teh truck goes up....not to mention your ride qaulity goes down and your tow and camber of your tires are affected thus wearing your tires out faster....unless you had it aligned afterward....hopefully you marked the bolt under your torsion rod cams so you can just back them off and return them to the factory ride height....if not just play with them until you get the desired height/ride and then have the truck re-aligned...just my $0.02

I can't see how the Hill kit or Ford keys would be any better than cranking up the torsion bars. You are still just increasing the preload on the torsion bars to raise the ride height.

The hill/ford keys, let you crank or get more turns out of your adjuster, than the stock key will.

They work great and I have as much or even more turns avaliable on the adjuster. :)
