6.2 Engine Break In Process

I've probably owned 30 or 40 vehicles in my life, but have never really been concerned with this and not sure why now, but am wondering what the real process is and what the consequences could be for not following.

For my new 2010 6.2 GMC EC 4X4, I haven't towed yet, didn't do any WOT at all with under 500 miles, but from between 600 and 900 miles have done about 5 WOT runs for passing cars on a two lane road. (it is addictive with this motor). Lately it seems every time I go to shut it off I spend a few seconds to try to hear any slight knocking sound....

So, is there any chance of damage by doing this at under a 1000 miles, or 2000 miles? I just checked and I have 22 hours and 905 miles on it.... Or is the motor broke in within 5 or 10 hours like a two stroke sled and good to go after that?

Just like the other 30 or 40 vehicles you have owned.....drive it. This whole 5000 or 10000 mile thing is crap, they are broken in after a few hours of runtime. After that it is all downhill to the end of the engines service life. People mindlessly babble on about tighter tolerances which means really the engine should break in faster if anything else. Moly rings take no time to seat on a properly surfaced and clearanced wall. Mind you with all these LS's that knock and smoke I don't think the tolerances are all that tight in reality. But hey what's a couple of thou wall clearance here and there among friends.......

If it runs fine don't be paranoid and try and enjoy it.
