6094m, 4718m

Which is the newest spec for GM? Is 6094 the harder spec to meet? When is one spec used for a vehicle and not another?

i use mobil1 synthetic 15/50.this is what gm uses for all high performance/high stress applications,it exceeds the 6094 specs.

Mobil 1 15/50 is not on the 6094 (standard, your truck included) list or the 4718 list (high performance)

 

Various other Mobil 1 weights are, 5w 30 is what the use from in the "factory fill" mobil 1 apps.

Not the only oils you can use, but thats the list GM has put out.

mobil 1 15/50 is suppose to protect more as the rpm's raise,so i'm told,as well as in hot weather,but i'm open to all opinions.
