Does anyone know if I would have any rubbing problems going to a 305/50/20 from a 285/50/20 on a 04 avalanche

yes, I think that some might have gotten 295s tucked under but 305s would rub.

if one was to add a leveling kit they would prolly work out though i would assume

yepper...check and test fit though. you might get lucky
