So i had to put another engine in my truck, and now this one i have got in it squeals like hell!!! The mechanic that said it was because of the rust... Ugh if its just rust wouldnt wd4o or somethin work to fix the squeal? or does anyone else know how to stop the belts from squealing?? Anything would be great!

Belt dressing is your best bet for a spray on solution.

Heard of people using wd40...but I wouldn't use it IMO

Best way to fix it is clean all your pulleys so there is no rust.

Would The wd40 mess up anything? or do i just need to spray it where the wheel spins on the bolt or whatever. and then spray some belt dressing on the belt?

If its squealing from the rust on the wheels clean it off and put a little belt dressing on...if its squealing cause the bearings are toast inside the pulleys...you need new pulleys. WD40 is not a real lubricant nor is it a grease.

Some guys here say they just spray WD40 on the belt, I would have thought it would make the belt squeal...but apparently is does not. I wouldn't do it to a new belt though, an old one trying to squeeze a little life out of it till I could afford to replace it...sure, but I would be afraid it would deteriorate the new belt....again that's my personal opinion...guys have said it does not hurt anything.
