Intake And Goodies

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys- I would like to add a cold air intake and throttle body spacer to my new truck. Just picked up a 2006 GMC Sierra SLT 1500 Crew Cab and absolutely love it! I plan on doing exhaust soon too. Any suggestions and comments on the intake and spacer would be awesome!

Also, I would like to get some bed rails for it. Where should I start looking for these? Any recommended brands?

Thanks guys!

Throttle body spacers are junk and I would expect several people to chime in here to agree and give you a hard time about wanting one. It's nothing personal. I am running a K&N 63 series CAI system. I can't say that it has added power, but it has a distinct tone when you hit the gas.

And welcome to the site!

Another "don't waste your money" on the TB spacer. I have a GMPP intake and I LOVE the look.

Recoment exhaust first.

I have a 4.8 L with the Magnaflow cat back dual out the back and

think it was a better investment than the Airaid CAI. Other than the addded sound

and a little more power from 55 mph to 75 mph the CAI is not very noticable.

But a kick ass exhaust is.

If I had to do over again I would go with the Airaid

air tube and a GM Performance Air Filter. From what I've read, its the best of both worlds.
