1995 3/4 t Sierra

My motorized seat has completely stopped working except for the lumbar pump. Fuses are good, any ideas? Is there anyway to move the seat manually it is stuck at a position that has my knees up around my ears!

Thx

First off, welcome aboard.

Sounds like the motor is gone but I cannot tell you if you can get past it manually. My guess is that there may be a worm gear attached to the seat you may free up by removing the motor.

On my '95 Suburban the wiring harness between the motor and switch unit is routed between the seat foam and the frame. After a few years of being crushed it completely wore through. My wife called me while she was pumping gas to say that there was smoke coming from under the driver seat. The wires had grounded out on the seat frame and smoked the wire insulation before the fuse blew. A new harness cost about $90. Was I surprised that the old harness wasn't reinforced where it ran across the seat frame? Yes. Was I surprised that the new harness was reinforced where it ran across the seat frame? No.

Check your wiring harness.
