Havent Been Here In A While #2

Im out of town working and have had a lot of time to think.

I have a rebuilt 6.0 short block in my garage that i was originally going to drop in my old GMC. Well I have been looking for 6.2l motors and dam they are proud of them so scratch that.

I dont want a track truck, the truck is staying leveled or lifted eventually, I just want more HP/torque out of this whole deal. I dont want a crazy lope.

Im thinking of going this route,

799 heads off of the 4.8 milled .035 to raise compression to the likes of the LQ9. Stock intake off of the 4.8. Tight LSA cam (maybe an LS6cam), 918 comp springs, hardened push rods, TB tourque converter and a tune of course. I know I need to swap the reluctor wheel on the crank to a 58 tooth wheel and a harness for the knock sensors.

Any input is more than welcome

TR224 from Thunder Racing (

) gets a lot of thumbs up on PerformanceTrucks.net for the 6.0L (I'm guessing this is a 112 LSA)

, and even though it's on a 5.3L, you can hear how little lope there is on the 114 LSA (due to the better audio quality of this video).
to give you an idea of the smoothness of a 114 LSA cam. I'd expect the 6.0 to sound similar if the exhausts are the same.

Thats a nice cam.

I know a couple people that have it with the 112 LSA.

Ill have to wait to listen to the clips, stupid company computer wont let me get on youtube!

Man that 112 LSA sounds good. Not really digging the 114 LSA sounds like it is idled to high.

Yep, the 112 LSA definitely makes a V8 sound like it should. One advantage the 112 LSA has is if you get tired of the lope at idle, you can always adjust your idle up a couple hundred RPMs and make it sound more like that 114 LSA. I agree the 114 LSA sounds too smooth (like the stock cam), but it sure sounds meaner than stock!

The biggest advantage of the 112 LSA for our heavy trucks (my Tahoe and your crew cab) is that it provides a little more low-end power.

Well i guess it wont be to loud cause I have a magnaflow 1 in 2 out and it is a lot quieter than a flowmaster. I like the sound of the maganflow!

Anybody got a TR224 112 for sale?

LOL
