Axle ratio

Just bought a ''93 Siverado 2500 4x4. What axle is standard and is there an RPO label somewhere on the truck? Thanks for any replies.

They should be in the glove box (on the lid)

You should have a semi-floating 14 bolt in it on the rear axle if it has the 8 lug wheels, making it the heavy duty one.  If you got the light duty 2500 with the 6 lug wheels, if I'm not mistaken those came with a 12 bolt.  Gear ratios would be either 3.73 or 4.10.

Look at your rpo codes on the glove box lid.

 

GT4   Axle Rear 3.73 Ratio

GT5   Axle Rear 4.10 Ratio

My Dad's 92' 2500 4x4 has the 8 luggers and 3.42's... so it doesn't necesarily have 3.73's or 4.10's...
