2004 Gmc Yukon Xl Air Doesn't Work

Hi. I have a 04 GMC Yukon Xl the air quit working i found the wires going to the pressure switch by the air compressor got pinched by the steering arm. Repaired the wires and the compressor still wont turn on. Checked fuses, relays tried a different heat and air controller in the dash from my brothers Sub. If you jump the relay the compressor will work. There is 12 volts on the activating side of the relay. Im thinkin the pressure switch is bad is there a way to test it and can it be removed without losing all the freeon? I'd try the one from my brothers truck than. Thank you for any help.
