Can A Dirty Maf Sense Cause A P0300

Just curious about this. I fixed my P0101 problem by cleaning the MAF sensor, then attached the computer to clear the check engine and it came up with a P0300 error which is a misfire thing... Could the dirty MAF sensor have caused the misfire issure? Thanks in advance guys.

Not according to any of the troubleshooting procedures I've read concerning the P0300. I'd clear the code and see if it comes back.

Yes. That can also be caused by the MAF.

Clear the code.

If it comes back, check the distributor.

Still there? Check the plugs, ignition wires, etc.

If you'd like the GM procedures for troubleshooting this code let me know. Many things are suspect but the MAF isn't mentioned.

It wouldn't be in the P0300 procedure. We already know he had the 0101. Can a dirty MAF lead to the 0300? sure. Would it be in the procedure to diagnose the 0300? no. This is the problem with diagnostic guides. Need to consider multiple codes.

Like I said before....clear the code and see if it returns then we'll discuss your options.
