Sub Woofer

Just wondering if anyone here has put a sub and amp in their truck. (extended cab. Same body style as mine. 2010). Is their a place for a sub where its out of the way. What size sub do u have? Thanks

i have an 04. but set up is the same. you need either shallow mounts, or what i did for a full size was i got the jl w1v2 and they make underseat boxes. it goes under the back seat. the mistake i made was getting a vented box. there isnt enough airspace for that. go with those subs or a kicker cvt. and you pull the back seat out to mount the amp on the wall behind it. i love my jl's. im running two 10' but im going up to 2 12' kicker cvt's.

i have a crew cab and i have 2 JL audio 10 inch subwoofers under the rear seat. it is downfiring. ordered a box off of ebay for ~100 with free shipping.

 

that's about the only place you are going to find to put a box. it's just difficult to find a mounting location for an amp.

 

i got that box because i already had the 2 10's.. if i were to do it all over again, i would probably just put one twelve so you still have some underseat storage if you need it.

most stereo shops will hook you up if you get a packaged deal from them. i paid 1400 for mine. but that was to have the whole audio system replaced. i saved about 300 doing it like that

The only audio shop near me is a best buy. Idk how i feel about them messing with my truck. Would a gm dealer do it? Also i wanna keep my oem stereo. Thats possible rite?

its best to replace your head unit. its best to have rca outs on the stereo. it splits it and gives you a low channel and a after market head unit gives you more control over the subs and amp. my stereo is a pioneer deh-4000ub. nice feature good stereo. bang for your buck. and there should be a custom stereo installer somewhere near you
