Tailgate Handle - Why Are All Black?

I have a 2010 Z71 w/ the Z71 "appearance package". This package includes color-matched front bumper/grill and color-matched door handles.

 

BUT - the tailgate handle is still rough-black like the rest of the Chevy's out there.

I'm surprised by this. Seems that the tailgate handle SHOULD be color-matched also.

 

Did I get a mis-matched tailgate by accident, or is this how it's supposed to be?

BTW - I noticed Ford and Dodge color-match THEIR tailgate handles when the door handles are color-matched. Just sayin...

Nope,You didn't get a mis-matched t/gate,They are all Black textured.

When you get the Z71 Appearance Package does the rear bumper come painted to match or is it chrome?

i was going to get a color matched one, but they aren't cheap and i think it would just look weird on the tailgate with the tailgate guard right above it not being colormatched.

The rear bumper is chrome, I think it would look better painted! IMO!

I have red door handles for mine now though.

How did you get your canopy to fit so snug?

I've got the same leer 100xq, but it seems like the rubber stops it from fitting nice and snug on the bed rail.

It's bumming me out.

The only thing I have done is move it forward a bit from where the shell place installed it. That and you have to get one side where you want it, tighten the clamps and the go to the other side and push out a bit to get it to sit down on the bed right. On the Chevrolets there is a bigger gap than there is on the GMC because of the way the bed is shaped at the top. GMC and Chevy use a different shell.

i like mine the way it is, goes well with the rail caps and tailgate protector
