Installing New Speakers

I am in the process of installing new speakers and eventually a new amp.

I removed the rear door speakers with the intent of installing a set of new in the box orion p6.2 components i had kicking around. these speakers are 4 ohm and the speaker that came out of the door is clearly marked 8 ohm. am i going to have any issues using these speakers for a few months untill i get my amp installed?

can i damage the factory head unit?

i looked around on crutchfield and they seem to be pushing 4 ohm speakers as replacements for factory speakers.

any help is appreciated

4 ohms will be just fine for the oem radio. Should actually give you a little bit more power over the stock speakers if they were 8 ohm. But it won't be sounding goooood until you really get the tweets and subs up in there!

I intend to eventually hook them up to the orion cs500.5 amp i will be removing from my other truck.

these new trucks seem to be much more difficult to install a stereo in than my old 2000 silverado. seems like you need custom harnesses and and modules for everything you install or change to get things working correctly.

Yeah, please don't say you have the bose system! They can be a headache hunting all the wires that you need. That amp will be perfect to push those tweets, but it won't give you SERIOUS bass.
