I read the posts about the ac belt tensioner jack hammering effect on acceleration. I have the same problem with my 2002 avalanche. I beleive it is a problem with the clogging of the compressor since i have changed the belt and tensioner twice. I dont understand why it will work fine as long as I dont jump on the gas pedal. I am short on money right now so I would like to know if it will last the rest of the summer by using it this way?

Your AC compressor is failing and will eventually lock up. Mine "jackhammered" as it was failing.

my belt tensioner jack hammers when i go above 3000 rpm with the ac on.

as long as i stay below that the belt stays steady and the ac cranks
