Valance ?

hey what does the valance do for the vehicle looks to me like it would actually cause cause drag. looking to level my new truck and maybe remove it i see alot of people do it.

you mean the black strip under the bumper? it slightly increases mpg by making the air that passes under the vehicle less turbulent- it also pushes air off to the side of the truck.

 

you wont lose much by removing it, and it looks much better imo.

Right now I have the valance on, but I've had the truck without it.

Looks good both ways IMO, when I drop the truck I'm probably going to take it off again.

I lifted my front end 1.5" with my valance still on and didn't see a decrease in mileage, so if it is removed i doubt the mileage would go down.

when driving down the road, it forms a low pressure area under your radiator to helps pull a little bit more air.

I think it looks good on, just trim it a little if you have to
