nitrohorse Posted June 26, 2010 Posted June 26, 2010 Is there a way to turn off the dash lights when I turn the DRL off? I searched the forum for an answer to my question prior to posting, but did not find one. I thought the dash lights would turn off when the DRL's are manually switched off, but it doesn't happen on my truck. I have a 2010 ECRB 5.3 6spd LT. Thanks...
gmercury Posted June 26, 2010 Posted June 26, 2010 GM started this on the trucks in 09 I think. I dont know why they did this. I havent figured out a way to turn them off either.
Doug_Scott Posted June 26, 2010 Posted June 26, 2010 How are you manually turning the DRL off? I noticed today that if you turn the fog lights on when the headlights are in the Auto mode, and just the DRL are on, it will turn the lights on completely (head, dash, fogs and tail lights).
nitrohorse Posted June 26, 2010 Author Posted June 26, 2010 I turn the DRLs off by turning the headlight knob to the left.

Ranger Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 You can also permanently disable the DRLs by removing the DRL fuses in the front underhood box...There are two I took out. I did it cause I put in HID bulbs and didn't want them running all the time. The automatic headlight system still works and turns the lights on at night, but the dash lights stay off during the day.
nitrohorse Posted June 27, 2010 Author Posted June 27, 2010 I read a post on here about removing the two fuses to disable the DRL, but I didn't realize that the fuses also controlled the dash lights. I'll give it a try today. Thanks.
turnerms98 Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 Same thing for me and I don't like it. I removed the 2 fuses for the DRL's and that didn't turn the dash lights off. I guess I'm just gonna have to get used to it.
