Vent Register

Hey all,

 

My first post here, and first time having anything to do with interior pieces. A chemical became incontact with the vent register and has turned it white in colour, so it needs to be replaced. (This is what I am referring to http://www.latemodelrestoration.com/item/CTP-63046W) .

 

The probelm is, I cannot figure out how to get the top bolt out holding it on. The main upper dash is in the way and I took out all the bolts I could find and it still will not budge. If anyone has any information regarding removing this piece please post here how to.

You need to remove the pillar trim and the passenger grab bar if yo haven't already.

Is this on your '04? If so, and you need to remove the register part, it will just pop out after releasing the tabs on either side.

 

 

I have removed that part, but on the outer edge of the housing it is also discoloured, which is held in by 2 bolts. The bolt on the right hand side is no problem.

If you're needing to remove the complete cover for access, then look at the thread I linked. It's a simple job

Thanks, Thats what I was looking for. I'll probably attempt it without the nylon removal tool, as I don't have access to one.
