Removing Tailgate Handle From 09 Sierra

I've searched and came up with nothing. I want to adjust the lever stops to allow more travel on my handle as mentioned in the TSB. I removed the 3 bolts and the handle is sloppy loose but not wanting to force anything I couldn't see what released the handle. I know there are 2 rods attached that will need removed first but the handle doesn't want to come out far enough to get to them. I think the bezek needs to come off first but I don't see haw that happens. Does it just snap in and Out? Has anybody removed the handle and could give some instructions?

Take a look at this Pace Edwards electric tailgate lock While I realize you are not installing one of their locks, it has directions on removing the handle.

I just removed the bezel as these instructions directed. It came off easily and allowed me to remove the handle just like I wanted. Thanks again for the instructions, it worked perfect.
