What do you think, A car/truck by one of the big three with (some) parts and final assembly in Canada or Mexico. Or one with a Japanese Logo but built in the states?

 

 

Final assembly on my truck was in Pontiac MI by the way.

Right now I had to vote "buy from an American manufacturer".  It gets really difficult to do this in some consumer electronics, but for cars/trucks (especially trucks) no problem for me.

My truck was built in my home state of indiana which i really hoped for.  Its pretty cool to open my drivers side door and to see the indiana state sticker on the side.  

 

I know my truck isnt 100% USA but it was built here and for the most part the profits (wages of the workers etc) stay here in the US.  Also id have to say buy american also because of family members being in the steel industy.  Kinda hits home for me.

I love this argument with the Honduh kids.  "Well my Accord is built in Maryville, Ohio which makes it American!"

 

Well my Truck which is made by CHEVROLET...An AMERICAN company (based in Warren, MI) and was also built in AMERICA (Pontiac, Mi).  So what does that make it?  Super AMERICAN?  Double AMERICAN?  AMERICAN deluxe?

I think about all the 'buy american' slogans have gone by the wayside. With the amount of parts and cars manufactured and assembled outside the U.S. these days, it is about impossible to buy anything 100% American anymore, except maybe a cheesburger.

Do Toyota, Nissan, Mazda, and so on make any heavy duty 3/4 ton or one tons trucks?

We have a local Honda plant (in South Carolina).  Everything made there is "Made in America".  But...the plant might as well be in Japan.  The PC's run Windows 98Japanese.  All employees wear a uniform (white shirt, white pants) and the money from the products goes to corporate, in Japan.

While I really prefer my vehicle was produced on an American assembly line weather it's an American Co. or not. It's not gonna stop me from buying what I want. I think people sometimes forget that while sometimes American companies have work done elsewhere those aren't they only people they employ.

Don't fool yourself into thinking that foreign car companies build here just because they think your cool and want americans to have jobs. They have the same motives as everyone else. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

It doesn't really matter to me.

 

At this time, I'm inclined to buy a truck from one of the big three. But it will be a used one.

 

 

The way I see it, if it's a good vehicle, then it doesn't matter where it came from.

 

Most of the American vehicles made today have some sort of bond with overseas companies, and vice-versa.

I would only buy trucks from American Companies, but I perfer cars produced by the European companies such as BMW...
