Will 285/75/16 tires fit on a stock 2003 2500 HD with the 8.1. Or will the front end needed be raised a bit? Right now it has 265/75/16 on it.

ive had 285,s on every hd ive owned 7-8 and now on the yukon and 6 out of the 8 fit with no problem, 2 of them just minor trimming.

Also if you just turn the torsion keys 1/2 or only 1 turn you wont need alignment

Ok, so I've not had any experience with the 3/4 tons, but I've put 285/75/R16's on one truck and then steped back down to 265/75/R16's with the next set of tires. I've had those BFG AT's on two 1999 body style 1500 Tahoes (2 door and 4 door) and had the same problem with both sized tires. They get cut on the outside of the tire when the tire goes into the wheelwell. You would never notice if you didn't do some serious off roading. It only happens to the fronts of course and is realy only cosmetic to the tire but it does pull down the flange on the inside of the wheelwell. My biggest fear is that the wheel would go full travel while in a solid turn. That might realy grind on the sheetmetal.

So why bring it up when I don't have any 3/4 ton experience? Because it's my biggest GM complant. NOT ENOUGH ROOM ABOVE THE WHEELS! 265's should fit fine. I turned up the tortion but that does not limit the travel. I could lift it, but that's big bucks.

I am looking at an '04, 2500 Yukon. Will I have the same problem? I'm realy interested to see what you all say about JJ's post. Personaly, I'd be real careful.

They fit on my '03 GMC Duramax truck with slight trimming of the front lower fascia.

Agreed. Did the same thing to my '04
