7 Pin Trailer Harness Power Cable

Recommended Posts

I have a 2003 Suburban and can not get power from the 12V red power cable at the 7 pin trailer harness. I have power to all the turn signals, brakes, back up, etc - but no power at the 12v red accessory pin.

I checked the fuse panel - but can not find a listing for the trailer harness power feed. Does anyone know where to locate the fuse?

thanks,

Hi Doug,

My 2010 requires a separate fuse that did not come from the factory equipped. Don't know if the 2003 is the same but likely. Check the owners manual.

Check the fuse block under the hood on the driver's side. Stud #1 is for the power feed for the trailer, Stud #2 is for the power to the trailer brakes. At least that's how it was in my '02 YukonXL, I wouldn't expect your '03 to be different.

Btw, welcome!
