Where Is The Outside Air Temp Sensor?

I must have knocked something loose while installing my hids. Its about 100 here and my temp is reading 55. I started the truck without the maf connected and got codes so I reset the ecm by disconnecting the battery for about 30min. It cleared the codes but after the next drive I noticed this. Anybody know where this sensor is located so I can check it out?

I found it and disconnected, the display read "---". Put it back on and it reads 55 degrees again. I don't know how anything related to HIDs could have caused this, but I did disconnect the HIDs from the factory fog harness temporarily just to see if it made any change and the sensor still reads 55 degrees. Is there some way to reset this sensor?

Read the resistance with an ohm meter, stick it in the fridge for 15 min. then read it with ohm meter again. If it's the same reading, the sensor is bad.

And if its lost its programming, its a trip to the dealer and 1 hour of labor.

Side Note...thats why I clear codes with a scanner, bad things can happen when the battery is disconnected.

So what is the suggested course of action then? Do I need to just go drive it around? I don't get how just disconnecting the battery could have made anything happen to it that would involve having it reprogrammed....

Mine did exactly the same thing-55 degrees after battery was disconnected for a few hours- wait a day or two with it hooked up and it will finally read the correct temp.

Mine corrected ifself after two days. Only drove it about 10 miles a day but if finally started working again. This was about 2 months ago and it still works fine.

Some times it will find its way after a few duty cycles. Hope yours does, if it doesn't it will have to be reprogrammed.

I have had my HVAC loose its programming and blow hot air after disconnecting the battery. Thats why I only do it in rare instances. Taking the starter off, its connected to the battery and will make a big spark if shorted and working on the restraint system (airbags) and then I will plug a 9 volt battery into the cig lighter so I don't loose any settings. Any other time I just remove the fuse to what ever I'm working on to take it out of the circuit. But thats just me, and I never have these problems...
